This is my take of the electoral college - i'm not authority but it's a fun conversation... at least it's sparking some interesting discussion on Facebook. This is my rare foray into a vanity post here... please be gentle. :)
If the image doesn't load I have Trump winning with 285 electoral college votes. The image is clickable.
Anyone worried about Utah?
I did this yesterday. I discovered that Florida and Ohio are crucial to the numbers. Especially Florida.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Trump picks up CO and WI as well.
WI? Why do you feel that way?
I like it.
PA is going to be tough.
I would add CO to the red column and one vote from ME
Looks good to me.
If PA, OH, NC, GA, FL go for Trump in the early evening, then that should signal that the rest of the country will give Trump the win.
If VA also goes to Trump, then a landslide could be in the running. :-)
2014 Midterm map records Congressional races.
2016 is an electoral readout.
i’m worried about a couple of states and Utah is one... but based on different data sets I think Utah will break for Trump. Trying not to be to much in denial but we’ll see.
PA will go dem. Not being a downer. Just a realist. Time and time again they have not come through and blacks will show up for their one day of work every four years.
CO is the key.
I really wanted to put them red but couldn’t based on the information I was basing my decisions on.
PA is the other long-shot (along with Utah)... ME might bring us one but the data I was looking at made me think it’s breaking blue... sadly...
That’s encouraging!
Ugh - i can’t help but feel you’re realism is... real. Fair comment! I actually think CO is out-of-reach... if PA’s gone then that undoes my map. I’ll keep looking at data and see if either can turn/stay red for me.
I think Trump has a better shot at taking Colorado than taking Pennsylvania. And if you switch the two then Trump still wins.
“PA will go dem. Not being a downer. Just a realist. Time and time again they have not come through and blacks will show up for their one day of work every four years.
CO is the key.”
Agree. There’s always a chance that white working class PA voters come out in droves and overwhelm the fraud.
In any case PA is not needed for Trump win.
Like you said CO.
And I would also give Trump one electoral vote from Maine.
I’m leery of PA but I think Trump may take CO and maybe MI. Probably not WI.
WI has a GOP governor and control of both state houses. Walker has had to not only win election, but to survive recall efforts. Has to account for something with regard to GOP strength in a statewide race, which Trump/Clinton is.
And yes I do believe he will win his home state of NY. The gray states could go either way but not enough to help Clinton, although I think Colorado and Nevada have moved more toward Trump while Utah may be moving to tossup.
