Members of Tufts University’s Greek system have been told they could face “serious disciplinary sanctions” — including a possible investigation by the campus police — for wearing Halloween costumes that offend peers or make the campus community “feel threatened or unsafe.”
The warning was part of a letter to the presidents of fraternities and sororities on campus signed by various Greek Life council leaders, who asked the chapter presidents to relay the message to their members.

There is no learning, or scholarship, or genuine knowledge gained in this horsedookey. If this policy is an indication of the scholarly rigor involve on the academic side of things then a degree from Tufts now is no better than a used piece of toilet paper, IMO.

I’d probably find lots of costumes I feel threatened by and need to report to the police. Hillary, Zuckerberg, a “journalist”, ...
And if I don’t see those I may need to report some less threatening costumes (i.e. a zombie with a running chainsaw and fifth of jack or even a basic clown) just so the organizers feel they helped society.
Most offensive is the White Male Student costume. He has white privilege,he is racist and most likely a rapist.

I have a very smart Niece who started Medical School in Albany this year. She read Ayn Rand in HS but I know despite her smarts that this is they type of thing surrounding her since day one of school.

As a kid I dressed as Aunt Jemima for several Halloweens, complete with burnt-cork blackface. No offense was intended, and as far as my experience went, none was taken.

Great idea! If I wander onto a college campus, I wonder how many students will be injured in the stampede as they frantically run to their safe space?
