Bittersweet was the word of the night, the one often used to describe President Barack Obamas final State Dinner.
We saved the best for last, he said Tuesday as he welcomed Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife, Agnese Landini, to the White House.
He wasnt joking.
The final gala meant everything was big or bigger, from the personality of the guest chef (Mario Batali) who collaborated on the menu to the size of the white tent (huge) on the South Lawn where the soirée was held, to the guest list (nearly 400 people). [ ]
Obama has held 13 state dinners during nearly eight years in office, two more than President George W. Bush, but fewer than other recent predecessors, according to the White House Historical Association. President Bill Clinton far exceeded both of his successors with 28 dinners during two terms in office.

Mario Batali, the pony-tailed, orange clog wearing POS that was caught stealing thousands of dollars from his wait staff in NY? Figures...
LOL! When I started reading the post I thought to myself with a groan, “They probably got that crawler Mario Batali to cook.” Sure enough.

Nice to know that he and his sparkling guests enjoyed spending my hard-earned money.
Feeding Italian food to Italians? Wonder what the thinking is?
If I go to Italy for a state dinner, they better not serve ham, cheesy potatoes and green bean casserole.
You mean that fat hog on ice who tried to drive the hotdog vendors from Washington Square Park to have them replaced with upscale food courts for the impoverished masses?!
Bittersweet! The Won’s are projected to have one billion dollars coming to them when all is said and done. Nice payday!

In 5-7yrs, all the EU menus will be muzzie-approved fare, anyway.
Never heard of him before, but, from your description, he sounds like the perfect choice to represent the Jarrett Administration.
Let's review recent history after Nixon (whose case was unique).
Carter: sad to go.
Reagan: glad to get back to the ranch.
Bush I: sad to go.
Clinton: really sad to go.
Bush II: kinda sad he didn't get top priority amnesty through but glad to go back to the ranch.
Obama: Really sad to go
The bigger elitist, globalist power hungry tool you are, the more you really really really wish you could be El Presidente for life. Love seeing them cry about it.
HEY! WARN people before posting something that horrific!!
