I thought the text msg told people to go to their news source to find a pic of the perp. Did I misread that?

It reminded me a bit of a scene in the (flawed, but interesting) film Fahrenheit 451. This time, it was used for a good purpose. Tomorrow...?

Reminds me of the manhunt in “Fahrenheit 451”.

I got one.

This was an Obama alert, the kind cell phone users can't opt out of. Fedzilla waited until morning this time but it won't be long before the 3 AM annoyance goes out on a routine basis.

"This time, it was used for a good purpose. Tomorrow...?"

Note that James Madison and Thomas Jefferson had warned patriots to be on guard against the corrupt feds unconstitutionally expanding their powers in small, relatively unnoticeable steps.

Consider that the FAA is likewise unconstitutionally expanding the fed’s powers by regulating the INTRAstate use of drones, the FAA having no express constitutional authority to do so, or to even exist for that matter imo.

So cool that he cares about us!
He’s got the whole world, in his hands -
He made ISIS and cares about their mission to culturally enrich us all.
He doesn’t hurt their feelings by calling them terrorists.
And he calls us on our phone to alert us everything’s gonna be alright.
Everything’s gonna be alright, right?

*Oh, BTW: FEMA updated their IPAWS Wireless Alert System page two days before the 09/17/2016 Constitution Day Manhattan bombing. (See below as a point of interest)

**And, there is going to be a Nation wide test of the (Cell phone) Wireless Alert System on Wed 2:20 EDT Sept 28 2016
Wonder what excitement might coincide with that?..

Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) | Federal Communications Commission

“In passing the WARN Act, Congress allowed participating carriers to offer subscribers the capability to block all WEAs except those issued by the President.”

https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/wireless-emergency-alerts-wea

Alerts from WEA cover only critical emergency situations. Consumers will receive only three types of alerts:

Alerts issued by the President
Alerts involving imminent threats to safety or life
Amber Alerts

Participating carriers may allow subscribers to block all but Presidential alerts.
What do consumers experience when they receive a WEA?

A WEA alert is accompanied by a unique attention signal and vibration.

(Phew, glad FCC mentioned Manhattan in their publication, ahead of the 09/17/2016 Constitution Day terrorist bombing):

“WEA enables government officials to target emergency alerts to specific geographic areas – lower Manhattan, for example – through cell towers that broadcast the emergency alerts for reception by WEA-enabled mobile devices.”

*5 days ago ... The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) is a modernization and integration of the nation’s alert and warning infrastructure.

**Upcoming IPAWS National Test (Wireless Alert System)
IPAWS will hold a national test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at 2:20pm EDT.
