Upstate NY town’s only black volunteer firefighter’s house burned down two days after receiving racist message telling him to leave
Two days after getting a racist letter threatening him if he didn’t quit, a black volunteer firefighter’s house was burned down in an upstate New York town.
On Monday, Kenneth Walker received a racist threat that if he didn’t resign from the North Tonawanda fire department, he would "regret it."
Walker is the only black volunteer firefighter in the department.

This needs to be investigated thoroughly. If it is not a hoax then the person(s) responsible need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. If it is a hoax... those responsible need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Apparently he wasn’t that good a firefighter.

After listening to the news reports on this today, I just couldn’t help but think this fire was strangely coincidental. I hope I’m wrong, because after hearing the fella interviewed regarding the threat, he seemed sincere and hopeful. Not a good thing to happen. The Fire Chief seemed supportive of the volunteer and appreciative having him in his department. Sad, whichever way this turns out. The Buffalo area does not have many racial problems.
The numerous hoaxers and insurance fraudsters must be blamed for the distrust police understand may have in this case.

A person who has enough character to be a volunteer fire fighter probably (probably) is not going to fan racial flames by burning his own house.
Person who did this needs to rot in prison. Actually, I don’t like the concept of prisons. The person who did this should be shot.

Tell me about it, I’ve lived in New York my entire life, I even use to have a girlfriend from that area in Buffalo in the 1980s. The only “black” they care about is the street under the snow. I would bet my life this story is utter fraud. I’m 53, grew up in New york city and have a lot of black friends to this day, 6 I’ve known since High school. None of them have ever experienced this stuff especially near Canada? One black guy? Absolutely it is fake and even if there was one racist he would probably be too stoned to burn a house down in the first place. This guy definitely needs to be investigated.
