A Ferguson restaurant that opened shortly before protests shook the north St. Louis County city is closing, according to social media posts.
The Ferguson Burger Bar and More, 9120 West Florissant Avenue, is closed until further notice, a Facebook post announced Sunday morning.
An ad posted to Craigslist shows the restaurant is for sale, highlighting the burger joints rankings in a Post-Dispatch food critics top 100 list.

I sense a business opportunity. A Bed, Bath, and Beyond, maybe. We could open with a huge White Sale. What could possibly go wrong?
Wasn’t Starbucks looking for a location?
Bed Bath and Beyond would be great. Or Pottery Barn. The area definitely needs some high end goods for looting.
He has installed a washateria, a fried chicken restaurant and a liquor store side-by-side....now, he's making loads of money.
Most businesses do not survive the first year and maybe the Ferguson Burger Bar is among that 90% or so but:
I think I maybe see how this restaurant can do a land office business. And in the process make the owners wealthy and the neighborhood love them.
Business plan.
Sell the burgers, fries and cherry pies for a buck or less.
First apply to the state for financial assistance. Done right, millions in taxpayer moneys will filter through the Burger Bar and with just a little forethought, most will stay in your bank account.
Obviously a poor business plan for the restaurant. They should have offered fried chicken instead of burgers.
In the route 66 travel book they insist you get back on the freeway and avoid East St. Louis.
Do not take historic Route 66 through East St. Louis.
Could be a fatal mistake./
The Griswolds found that out the hard way (Warning: Language)"
Heh ... get’em well lubricated, sell’em greasy food, give’em a place to clean up ... I like it!
“I sense a business opportunity. A Bed, Bath, and Beyond, maybe.”
I was thinking a book store
It’s a food desert out there. Maybe a Whole Foods store so they can get their daily required dose of arugula? Hmm...I wonder what the insurance would be for an Armani store?
Maybe it's because they are only located in high-income "yuppie" areas?
Just until there was no longer any return on their virtue signaling.
Starbucks isn’t going to get anywhere near that hole.
Could it be....raaaaay-cisss?
(Apologies to the Church Lady.)
The bookstore would be broke in a week.
That’s too bad. He opened BEFORE the thugs went and burned down the neighborhood. There are some things you can’t control in business and that’s one of them. Perhaps that dimbulb mayor can reimburse him for the space she gave “to destroy.” $8.50 for a burger combo... Not a bad deal.
Now if he could accept EBT....
“The bookstore would be broke in a week.”
Perhaps, but you would never have to worry about being looted
