“Edwards stated that the style of the film will be similar to that of a war film, stating, ‘It’s the reality of war. Good guys are bad. Bad guys are good. It’s complicated, layered; a very rich scenario in which to set a movie.’[3][4]”
It doesn’t sound appealing.
“layered” and “very rich” better describe pastries than a war film!
.
It sounds like the DNC agenda
And that’s why they’re changing it. When you get past all the breathless love of insisting everything is going to be a disaster all that’s really going on is he hewed further away from the standard look and feel of Star Wars movies and they’re bringing it in closer. Lightening the tone, tweaking the look. Makes sense really, the rumor is that the end of this movie is basically 10 minute before Ep 4, so the look and feel really can’t deviate that much, especially not in this home media age when you know a good chunk of the audience will be watching the two back-to-back.

No it doesn’t, at least not for a Star Wars movie. People expect those movies to be escapist fantasy; not complicated, layered, or the reality of war.
