Most Visually Pleasing Weapons Of All Time (vanity)

Posted on 06/03/2016 7:55:48 AM PDT by Don Hernando de Las Casas

Here’s a light-hearted question for a beautiful Friday morning. What are the most visually beautiful weapons ever created? I was gonna ask for your top 5 or top 10, but, really, why limit ourselves? ANY weapons count; notice I’ve counted warships on my list. I hope I haven’t listed all the best. Have at it, gang. Tiger tank 1911 .45 1921 Thompson BAR 1851 Colt Navy revolver M-60 and/or MG-42 Any ship of the line circa. 1770 – 1815, such as L’Orient.

The Panther is a whole lot better looking than the Tiger.

I care not if my weapon is pleasing to look at, only that it works and places rounds where I need them.

Definitely YES to the Python, and yes to the 4 inch barrel.

A-10 Warthog

As Douglas Adams said of another weapon, which is applicable to the A-10:

The designer of the gun had clearly not been instructed to beat about the bush. ... "Make it totally clear that this gun has a right end and a wrong end. Make it totally clear to anyone standing at the wrong end that things are going badly for them. If that means sticking all sort of spikes and prongs and blackened bits all over it then so be it. This is not a gun for hanging over the fireplace or sticking in the umbrella stand, it is a gun for going out and making people miserable with."

I constantly flip-flop between the Tiger, the Panther, and the King Tiger. Can never make up my mind.

My daily weapon is the CZ-75B (beautiful). I have a suppressor with it. If I knew how to post a pic, I would.

I agree. It took me a long while to be able to credibly rebuild one that meets specs.

What is more lovely than an A-10 with its wings tilted 80 degrees for a gun run, 200 feet off the ground?

Compare a triple-deck ship of the line with the USS Constitution. See what you think.
