Interesting.
In the video, it looks like the gorilla is try ing to help or protect the boy.
The article says it dragged the boy around the enclosure for 10 minutes.
I can imagine the boy was terrified and screaming.
I wish there were more or better videos available of what really happened.

It is too bad that there isn’t an ape rapper on staff. Much like a dog whisperer.

Overnight is fine.
Gorilla burgers are a nice alternative to dolphin tacos.

I think the steaks would be tough.
I was a little worried I might get banned.

I think the gorilla WAS trying to protect him. But he was treating the boy like a young gorilla, and humans can’t take the same physical treatment that a gorilla can.

Leftist idiots. That kid could have been ripped apart in seconds. They made the RIGHT call. Setup procedures for faster tranquilizing if need be. But they did the only thing they could.

“Its a zoo.
Surely they had a tranquilizer gun.”
So what do ya think is in the tranquilizer gun?
Hint: it’s NOT a tranquilizer...it’s PCP.
The stuff Rodney King was on...
They use it on grizzlies in my community...Elephants, lions, tigers and giraffes in the African wild.
Actual tranquilizers often kill big mammals because they stop breathing. PCP ‘shuts them down’ by making them over-aware...
Best not to give it to a gorilla with a four year old.
Just an FYI.

Well, I am glad the kid is okay.
The parents, though, should have to pay for the animal.

Don’t believe your lying eyes! Here’s one where the gorilla protected a kid from juvenile gorillas. Fortunately they didn’t shoot him or didn’t have enough time to shoot him.

I don't blame them for shooting the gorilla. I imagined it looked something like:

It appears that the gorilla was not hurting the boy at all.

Chimps are very aggressive. Gorillas are not.

"More than 2,000 people signed a petition on Change.org that sharply criticized the Cincinnati Police Department and the zoo for putting down the animal..."
That's not many, but they do make a lot of noise on political discussion boards. They should be committed to facilities for the criminally insane.

It occurred to me that if that gorilla intended to harm that boy, the kid wouldn’t have lasted more than 20 seconds.

I’m sure the animal rights activists were reserving judgment until they found out the minority, or registration status — R or D— of the kid’s parents.
