Add least-popular presidential candidate in modern times to Donald Trump's resume, should he be the Republican nominee.
According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, Trump's overall unfavorable rating sits at 67 percent making him the most disliked major-party nominee in 32 years of polling.
Just 30 percent view him favorably.
Furthermore, roughly 75 percent of women, 66 percent of independents, 80 percent of young adults and 85 percent of Hispanics view him unfavorably.
Nearly half of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents also view him unfavorably.
Trump's rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz has the lowest unfavorable impression among the general public than Trump and Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton. Cruz sits at 51 percent unfavorable and 31 percent favorable.
Clinton, on the other hand, may be at 52 percent unfavorable, but with 46 percent favorable, she leads both parties' candidates in favorability among the general public.
Head-to-head matchups also show Clinton as well as rival Bernie Sanders leading Trump in the general election, sometimes by double digits, the poll also found.
The telephone poll of 1,000 adults was conducted March 3-6 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.
Nobody with common sense needed this article to know the obvious.
Posted already.
Garbage.
If he was so unpopular he wouldn’t be winning.
When the leftists are saying it, the opposite is true.
According to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll, Trump’s overall unfavorable rating sits at 67 percent making him the most disliked major-party nominee in 32 years of polling.
This makes me more likely to vote for him.
Oh man, that Romney guy must have known what he was talking about this time.
/sarcasm off
Fake but accurate.....now where have I heard that before......
They keep saying this but they never mention the huge crossover party registration to the GOP, the huge increase in first time voters, and the huge voter turnouts that have Trump 2 million votes ahead of the other GOP candidates, even with 17 running
Nor do they mention the vast inroads the hopeless cause Bernie Sanders is making on candidate presumptive Clinton and the low overall democrat turnout vs the GOP
It’s BS in the first place, and I’ll take “least popular” over “most incompetent” any day.
Your job is done, posted the anti-Trump hit piece for this hour...back to sleep.
Another NOBODY trying to hitch a ride to relevance.
The crossover votes will be voting Democrat in the fall. Right now they are just attempting to put in place the worst nominee to oppose Hillary.
How is it that the 14% of the people on Free Republic who are big fans of Cruz seem to post about 60% of the articles, and many of the same ones over, and over, and over again.
Least popular and nominee seems like an oxymoron.
That doesn’t explain Trump’s 2 million+ popular vote margin over the others. Nice try though
So who has been winning the primaries in that alternate universe that you live in?
The people getting things hate what he could do. He makes the Dem and GOP fear a loss of their power and stuff.
Best possible candidate.
Like I said months ago, Trump must be dumped. He will not win the election.
I saw Trump’s response to the question, ‘If abortion is outlawed, would you advocate punishment for the woman...?’
Trump responded, ‘ Of course, there has to be a penalty.’
Trump answered logically, as there can be no law without a penalty its violation. He did not ‘advocate’ for such a law, nor the punishment attendant thereto, if one were to exist. He simply answered the question with knowledge of the law...as, I’m sure, anyone familiar with Law, would know.
A fabricated ‘GOTCHA!’, and something for his detractors to cling to.
I didn’t say anything about the primaries. So what alternate universe are you living in?
