He is a lawyer! He won’t say anything that might trip him up in court at some later date.

See the excellent analysis in post 23. Cruz has to worry about how every word he says impacts Heidi. Yesterday we were told that she cancelled two days’ worth of appearances/fundraisers, etc., so she could rush to Ted’s side.
Except that she hasn’t been seen anywhere near Ted’s side.
