The detergent lowers the surface tension of the water enough that they can inhale the solution through their spiracles and drown/suffocate. If going after hornets I'd test the mixture on carpenter ants first!

I understand how it works... I was just asking how to make it/use it. I would be a little leery of using it on Wasps... I mean i know it will work, just scared I might not get them all :)
