Ted Cruz likes to say “personnel is policy” but the single most important personnel decision he’s made on the 2016 presidential campaign has become his most controversial.
Cruz has carefully built his brand on trustworthiness — he stands almost daily in front of signs that read “TrusTED” — but in selecting his campaign manager, Cruz tapped a take-no-prisoners operative well practiced in political dark arts.
Those who have crossed Cruz’s campaign manager, Jeff Roe, say things like he’s “mean” and a “master of sleazy politics.” He’s also an indisputably talented tactician who has guided Cruz from an asterisk early in the race to one of its finalists. But his calling card has long been win-at-all-costs campaigning.
As Cruz enters super Tuesday — “the most important day of this entire primary election,” Cruz said Sunday, when a slate of southern states long seen as the linchpin to his nomination will vote — his opponents have successfully raised questions about Cruz’s own ethics and honesty, repeatedly calling him a “liar” and accusing him of “dirty tricks.” Along the way, Cruz has lost his base, evangelical Christians, to Donald Trump in three straight states.
“You bring a king cobra into your bed? You better be a mongoose, that’s all I can say. You bring pure evil into your home. You are who you hang with,” said Cathy Rinehart, a Democrat who ran against Roe’s old boss, Republican Rep. Sam Graves, in 2002. Rinehart says Roe’s political team hounded her in public with cameras (she contacted the police; no charges were filed).

The tactics he is using has raised serious doubts in my mind about Cruz, and I was an early supporter.

The obvious conclusion is Cruz, but I'm hot so sure that a mercenary would not adopt an "enemy of my enemy is my friend" approach.

Mormons: Pissed off...about 1 million stay home. (Payback is a bitch).
Conservative Catholics: Pope pissed off...about a million stay home.
Mexican Americans: Cruz cultivates in Texas AZ, NM, S.Cali...about a million and half stay home or go to Dem.
Cuban American conservative base: Their candidates insulted and dissed: about a 1/2 million + stay home.
Pro-life: Hardcore voters...about 2 million...stay home.
That's about 5 million staying home... not voting at all.
We lose the Senate...so even if Trump wins...no wall, no deportations, no flat tax, no conservative judges. I could go on and on.
I did not factor in the Rinos, Rubio and Cruz hardcore or conservative Christians. (At least another 3+ million)?
Not to mention the black support Carson, Paul and in some part Rubio had been working on. Blown away in less than 24 hours by media and Trump “stupidity”.
Josef Stalin could be on the dem ticket and win with the real base of conservatives not turning out to vote for the liberal. A base that has been tossed under the bus for promises of “crossover democrats”.
Well played. And just think....the day Donny becomes the nominee...President Buckwheat lets all those “dreamers” pour over the border...to beat the “wall” going up.
And guess who gets to pay for them through EPA director Al Gore's carbon footprint tax of no less than 16.9%?
