FCC rules state that the device is subject to outside influences...just like your FM radio.
There is a disclaimer on the MFR tag.
Some yrs ago I needed a new laptop so went to Costco
They had ONE laptop displayed, that’s it.
I asked a sales guy what’s up?
He said they are waiting fot the new ones to come in with Vista operating system.
I bought the lone display laptop at a good discount and it had XP on it.
So glad I never experienced Vista as it got VERY bad reviews.
Years later I was in need again for a laptop.
Went to Costco and got a good one with Windows 7 on it. Works fine
When Win 10 came out, all I heard was that it was the epitome of invasiveness and would spy on you without you being able to prevent it.
Now every few days my puter does a pop up offering me Win 10 for free.
Well duh, why not give it away-it will bring them many returns worth more $ then they would make by charging for it.
Why kid ourselves though, if yer on the www in any form yer naked from yer toes to your hat
Heck, cover yer camera lenz and turn off your mic and they can turn you screen into a camera lenz.
I used to have onstar on a vehicle and I heard the the gov could listen to your convos throught he OS mic.
The way to kill this is to sue them ... They impose a unilateral contract upon you that you must “accept” in order for you to run your business. You need to impose a unilateral contract on Microsoft. They will ignore you... Pick the venue wisely... and win.
