Be careful about old double shotguns with Damascus barrels, those things are ticking time bombs. Be particularly careful about guns like Charles Daly, Parker, WW Greener or Sauer guns that have those. I run a disposal service for such guns and will take them off your hands free of charge. I’ll even pay for shipping.

I have friends at a pawn shop and have watched these type people come in and try and pawn/sell their crap and heard the stories and am amazed.

I watched one lady bring in a gold chain she said she paid $2300 for at a national chain. She was wanting to pawn for $1000. The pawn shop offered her melt value which was around $250 at the time and she about had a stroke cursing and ranting they were ripping her off, finally she walked out the door showing her self to be an idiot the whole way.

Some bring in their old CRT tv’s to pawn or sell and they won’t take them anymore and many people won’t lug them back out to their car and just leave them. I have seen signs for $5 or even free on them.

One of my friends works in the electronic dept. and he was telling me they have one lady who five years ago brought in a simple DVD player and pawned it for $20 which the guy said was a generous pawn amount but she had been a regular customer for years. Anyway for the last five years she has paid interest on this $20 each month rather than just get it out of pawn for the original $20, which comes to many-many times the original $20 amount, go figure....
