Taxpayers will have to shell out an estimated $18 billion more to subsidize Obamacare in 2016 despite lower than expected enrollment in the health care exchanges, according to a forecast by the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO).

In its latest 10-year economic forecast, CBO predicted that 13 million Americans would purchase health insurance through the Obamacare exchanges in 2016, with 11 million of them receiving government subsidies to help pay for their premiums.

But that figure is 40 percent lower than the 21 million enrollees CBO predicted last year would sign up. ...

The devious plan is working. As it implodes the Dems will call for Univ. Health Care and McConnell/Ryan Leadership will
jump on board.

Obamacare penalty for 2015 tax year (this year’s filing), greater of $325 or 2% of taxable income.

Better deal than Obamacare.

Thank God we have a Federal Reserve that can print up all the unbacked fiat dollars we need, manipulate interest rates, and create unlimited government debt.

Otherwise, how would we pay for all this stuff and keep the progressives in power?????

Like rotary winged aircraft or an Osprey in a combat zone, Obamacare is something that doesn’t look like it should work and in fact is constantly looking for a place to crash.
I see it happening right about the time Zero is run out of the WH. The Democrats will blame the GOP and the MSM will sell it for them.

WAIT WHAT??? You mean people are signing up to get something for free and people aren’t signing up for the same thing when they have to pay for it???

But it’s Obamacare. It’s free...I’m so confused.

I know this is an old thread but I was thinking of buying this as I am self employed and dont have health insurance. Anybody know what the average cost is for someone who makes approx. $70K a year? I can’t seem to get a straight answer from the net, every freakin’ link is ads ads ads and scams. I’m single and live in New York . If it costs over $500 a month forget it.

Totally dependent on age and level of coverage (deductibles, copays, etc.). An “average” premium would not be useful to you — too much of a range. You’ll have to input your specific info.

You can deal with the ads and scripts by researching ad-blocking, script-blocking, and privacy extensions for your browser.

Oh wow thanks, I didn’t think anyone would see that message. I was just wondering if there is an official Obamacare website, you know the one that cost the taxpayers $60 billion whatever it was, but I think I found it. I think this is it.........

https://www.healthcare.gov/

I was just wondering on an estimate rather than go through their 20 billion questions but I guess I’ll go through it anyway. Thanks for replying

https://nystateofhealth.ny.gov/

When I applied through my own state’s exchange I was able to save the application and return to edit it any number of times before finally submitting it. Also was able to see the estimated premium cost before doing the actual submission. Your NY website may or may not be set up the same way. Iincidentally, I really never did have any difficulties with the application. The next year, renewal, was a different story!

I got an estimate that said around $350 to $400 a month, but it said that for any income I entered whether I entered 2 bucks a year or 2 million, at least for New york. It just seemed very buggy the website so I cancelled it. Even if it is $400 a month, that is a LOT of money! Compare that to car insurance which is on the free market, they are practically giving it away “name your price”. Trump says if he is elected he will put HC on the free market, I hope. I may wait until then. Either way this whole thing stinks of massive corruption, imagine owning a business where the US government mandates the people buy your product. That’s what is going on with this Obamacare. “Buy this companies product or we will punish you” F them and the BS they rode in on, seriously. Get government out of healthcare, get the John Edwards ambulance chasers out, and put it on the free market, create competition and health care would be the same as car insurance.

My car insurance sure doesn't seem like it's being "given away" -- I'm in a semi-rural area, no tickets, no accidents, one driver, only one car with collision coverage and it's just over $1000/yr. Yes, I have shopped around.

My monthly premium on the state exchange for a silver plan assuming no subsidy would be just under $1,000.
