Donald Trump Isn't Real

As usual, Brooks doesn't get it. Donald Trump is real, in a way professional politicians aren't. He says what real voters want to hear, and he doesn't try to slice it and dice it in a politically way that will keep the media from attacking him. He doesn't care if the media attacks him - he attacks back, and does so effectively.

That's a powerful lesson that the GOP and it's collection of drones needs to learn - your constituents are what matter. Defend and champion their principles without embarrassment and without weakness. Your constituents are why you're in Washington - getting David Brooks, George Will and Eleanor Clift to think you're "real" and making sure you get invited to every Beltway party isn't why you're there.
