I don’t know the answer to that but according to the article, the lawyer plans to appeal.

According to another article:

Two women’s advocates also spoke during the proceeding, asking the judge to reconsider. Joy Burkhard, director of 2020 Mom, said she believed Coronado suffered from psychosis and was never treated.

“We can’t fail her twice,” Burkhard said. “We failed her family. Our health care system failed her.”

Lay off California.

Texas put Andrea Yates in the loony bin and not prison for murdering five of he children.

Texas was soft on Yates and California manned up and gave this Baby Killer life in prison.

with time served and adjusted for good behavior . . . About 9 months. And gets all the welfare goodies retroactive to the date of the arrest. The humiliation is punishment enough (what's good for the politician is good for the citizen).
