While the nation's legal scholars differ over the exact meaning of the Constitution's requirement that a person must be a "natural born citizen" to become president, they're unanimous in saying Ted Cruz is wrong about an important point.
"As a legal matter, the question is quite straightforward and settled law," Cruz has said. "People will continue to make political noise about it, but as a legal matter it is quite straightforward."
In fact, the experts say, it is neither settled nor straightforward.
It's not settled â because the Constitution does not define "natural born," a phrase that appears in the nation's founding document only once.
And though the federal courts have chewed on it from time to time, the U.S. Supreme Court has never officially said what it means.

Ted Cruz was born on December 22nd. 1970. At this time, his citizenship was defined by the Canadian Citizenship Act of 1947. This document clearly states that: A person born after the commencement of this act is a Natural Born Citizen: (a)if he is born in Canada or on a Canadian ship.
You can find the information regarding Natural Born Canadian Citizenship on the second and third pages at the link I provided.

It’s in front page. You should have known that any anti-Cruz, birther article would be on the sidebar somewhere.
Yeah, I just saw that.
that’s what Canada was saying when he was born.
What galls me is that the Dems are going to get away with having a Kenyan-Indonesian usurper on the throne for 8 years, but Cruz.....probably the United States last hope for honest Constitutional government......will be prevented from taking office.
I am so depressed. Why even bother to vote?
Give me a break. Trump is awesome.
Because they will not take Cruz's name off the list of candidates. Even if it's all true.
What they will do is hope that the issue being brought up is enough to discourage you from voting.
This is what Trump said would happen. He knows what tactics they use. The only one that can change the 'effectiveness' of that tactic is YOU.
Stick by your candidate, whomever that is. If that candidate becomes the nominee, vote for him(her). If not, then vote for the next best choice. Otherwise you are just helping the Dem candidate win.
25-30% of voters don’t think Cruz is eligible, that a huge handicap.
If he got a declaratory judgment, like Goldwater or McCain, this wouldn’t be an issue for him.
He’s not even that. Both the US and Cuba also had a claim to him, at birth.
Who knew his name not Ted. Be proud of his the same of his father.
Rafael
As a yout perhaps he was inspired by “Ted” Kennedy?
His middle name is Edward.
“Trump is awesome.”
If you don’t think he’s awesome then you are a stupid nasty moron and nobody likes you.
Every 4th grader across the US agree with you. Donald is awesome.
4th graders just love using big words like awesome.
So now we’re relying on the Candaian constitution for our constitututional/legal definitions.
There’s no way he’ll put this in front of a judge.
If Cruz was the nominee the Democrats would keep him off the general election ballot in key states. He would have to sue, and it could drag on past the election. Gore v. Bush on steroids.
You and your nonsense again?
Yet another Donald Trump paid shill?
Listen your made up “natural born issue” is going exactly nowhere. The US Supreme Court won’t touch it with a 10 foot barge pole.
You need to worry a it more about Trump’s mother who is a natural born British citizen. At least Ted Cruz’s mother was born here.
Go suck on a lemon paid shill.
