“I hate taking laptops apart and putting them back together even more.”

Indeed. I basically won’t repair a laptop anymore other than replacing the keyboard, RAM, HD, optical drive, sometimes the WiFI module.

But a GOOD laptop will last years and years and years. I’ve used Panasonic laptops now for a long time. Builtin 3-year USA warranty and support. My old XP ones still work, but bought new ones anyway to get more powerful hardware, W7, etc.

" RAM, HD, optical drive,"

Anything with an access panel designed for service is fair game and not really "taking it apart"
