Many states are currently working on legislation to require private employers to use E-Verify, too.

If an employer hires an undocumented worker, even unknowingly, that employer can face severe consequences.

Employers in Arizona can have their business license suspended to 10 days for hiring just one illegal immigrant. If the infraction is committed a second time, Arizona revokes the employer’s business license–permanently. In Virginia, businesses and partnerships are covered by a similar law.

Even if the state doesn’t have a specific immigration law, the employers can be fined under federal law for hiring illegal immigrants. For employers who repeatedly hire undocumented workers, the federal fines can reach as high as $200,000.

In some cases, if an employer repeatedly hires undocumented workers, that employer will be required by the federal government to utilize E-Verify or face additional penalties. Any business owner, however, can sign up for E-Verify. It is available to any employer, even those employers who are not required to utilize it under state or federal law.

Under E-Verify, employers are required to maintain records of all employee identification documents and of their I-9 forms. These records are expected to be up-to-date, as well. I-9 forms must be kept for either 3 years after the worker is hired, or for one year after the worker is terminated, whichever is greater. If a worker’s identity document expires during that time period, the employer is responsible for obtaining new ones.

Employers are also encouraged under federal law, and by some state laws to keep copies of all documents which support the I-9 forms. These copies, however, can not be kept in the employee’s personnel file, but must be kept separate and confidential

Because of these laws, all employers have to use E-Verify or they could face stiff fines....with all the building that Trump does, he is aware of this and undoublty uses it our he would be fined....

He’s a World Known Billionaire that hires thousands of workers a year and has done in all his business years....

“Many states are currently working...”

But not all.

“with all the building that Trump does, he is aware of this and undoublty uses it our he would be fined....”

Trump is probably aware of the laws, but that does not mean he follows them. Trump supporters already admitted that Trump financially supported democrats at all levels of government in order to do business. That is called bribery and IS illegal in EVERY State.

Besides, E-verify is NOT the law everywhere so Trump could still hire illegals under the table, knowing that most of his dem cronies do the same thing so nobody will likely call him on it.

Basically, what you just admitted is that you made a totally unfounded, if not, completely false statement supporting Trump, but tried to pass that statement off as a fact.

It would have been better for you to say that you HOPE Trump uses E-verify, rather than doubling down on claiming that you know he uses it and “has this handled” when in fact you have no idea if Trump uses it and you have no idea if Trump does employ illegals.

That kind of dishonesty by Trump supporters is why so many are losing credibility and turning everyone else off on Trump.

Yawn.

No matter how high the fine goes, it's just money and a business expense that will be passed on, one way or another, to the customer. Furthermore, if you make the fine excessive, you're imposing an expense that simply serves as an incentive to hire MORE illegal cheap labor.

We need to start locking up the businessmen who employ illegals. I want to see them perp walked.

Also, under Federal regulations, you can’t run E-Verify before making an offer and you can’t get rid of an employee just because of what you learn form E-Verify.

This is from the government itself:

“If you take adverse actions against job applicants or employees based on a Tentative Nonconfirmation (TNC), you could face legal action, including civil penalties and back pay awards, and your participation in E-Verify may be terminated.”

E-verify is okay. It’s part of Cruz’ plan that he’s outlined.
