If I lived 6 miles from work, I’d ride a bicycle. But I live 35 miles from work, so :-(

3 miles in New England could be the equivalent of 50.

There is an outfit up in Tennessee that makes a vehicle called a “Rhoades Car”. It is a four-wheel pedal powered vehicle, that comes in various configurations, from a single-person one-seater, to a four-passenger version, in which all the passengers have a a pedal crank, to pull their own weight. There is also another more advanced version that uses an electric-motor assist, with a canopy, lights, and a solar recharging panel, the Rhoades SOLARped Series, new eco-friendly solar powered model that uses the solar panel to recharge the battery pack. About $7,000, plus shipping.
