I read that Cook pooh-poohed the idea of merging iOS and OS X -- or more specifically, an iDevice and a Mac.
But the latest couple of OS X GUIs have adopted the (awful) flat, cartoony look from the latest few iOS releases -- a GUI that's made for lower graphic power devices. It's acceptable, I suppose, on an iDevice, but frankly I hate it on OS X. It's the main reason I'm sticking with Mavericks for now.
Note that I have exactly the same criticism of Windows 10 -- for example the three little click boxes at the top-right of a window, for minimize, maximize, and close, are now huge stupid looking rectangles, so that -- should I get the demented desire to put my thumb on my video display screen -- I can pretend it's a tablet. Except that there's no touch on the screen. Horrendous, foolish, stupid UI choices.
Please Apple, don't keep up like this. You can do so much better, it's your strength.
Anyway, Swordmaker, are you planning to post a thread on the declaration of non-merger? I was about to but saw you are up and about, figured I'd give you the option.
