Ann Corio was a stripper and burlesque star in the fifties and sixties. I think all she peeled off was her gloves. But she did it very well.
I think Corio goes well back to the Forties, as she starred in two Monogram b-flicks from around 1943, “Sarong Girl” and “The Sultan’s Daughter,” which were designed to capitalize on her already-familiar name and notoriety. She was proceeded by Gypsy Rose Lee and Sally Rand, though.
