Pitching machine baseballs are not real baseballs. They are a lot better at holding their shape.

A real MLB ball will actually get non-round very quickly after being hit only a few times.

Thanks - makes sense. And even if he’d used a genuine replica Hattori Hanzo sword, I strongly doubt he’d be able to cut a real baseball in half, especially one-handed.

That’s not always true

I’ve batted many a cage that used genuine official mlb balls

Some do use the harder composite ones but some still use regulation stitched leather college or MLB BASEBALLS.....
