Ebby Halliday Acers, Dallas Queen Mum of residential real estate, died peacefully in her sleep Tuesday evening, surrounded by friends and family. She was 104 years old.
Like everything in life, Ebby did it her way, said Randall Graham, her long-time associate and member of Ebby Hallidays executive leadership.
Born Vera Lucille Koch in the small town of Leslie, Ark. on March 9, 1911, she took on the professional name of Ebby Halliday and moved to Big D in 1938.
In these parts, there was only one Ebby.
She turned a one-woman sales force selling cinder-block homes into one of the countrys largest residential real estate companies.

I remember seeing her signs in the 60’s when I was a kid.

What a life! She’s a huge name in Dallas. I had friends that worked there...and they thought the world of that organization.

My mom used to work for her back in the 70’s, and she would take me to hold a parties at Ebby’s house.
