The Redskins have plenty of work to do. The offensive line, specifically pass protection, would be a good place to start.
Robert Griffin III and the Redskins starters managed 10 total yards on their first three series of Thursday nights preseason game vs. the Lions.
On the fourth series, Griffin got sacked on consecutive plays. On the second sack, his fumble was recovered by Gabe Wright of the Lions at the Redskins 11-yard line.
To make matters worse, the Redskins announced Griffin was then evaluated for a right-side stinger and possible concussion. He was cleared to return to the game but wasnt going to return; Griffin finished 2-of-5 passing for 8 yards.
Starting left tackle Trent Williams, generally considered the teams best offensive lineman, sat out the game but the four other starters played. Willie Smith started in place of Williams.
Griffin got sacked on the first drive it appeared first-round pick Brandon Scherff was beaten on the play and was forced to dodge rushers on almost every pass. On the second drive, Griffin got smashed by a blitzing DeAndre Levy on a third down pass to Andre Roberts that should have been caught.
Griffin took a bunch of shots and a few big ones in last weeks preseason debut vs. the Browns, too. Griffin is always in the spotlight. The Redskins need to figure out a way to keep him upright.

Injury-stricken but I’d take my chances w/ RG3 over “alleged” rapist Jameis Wiston.
Look at all the QBs who had the scramble style of play in college who flopped in the NFL. The best you can do is the shotgun, bootleg style of play that Rodgers does.
I’m no RG3 fan (his play doesn’t backup his boasts), but it sounds like the REDskins need to an O-Line to block for their QB ... even Peyton Manning couldn’t perform if he gets no support upfront.
The ‘80s REDskins weren’t a great team just b/c of Theismann, but b/c of the Hogs, Riggins, and the other other support they had.
It’s hard to be an effective QB when you spend half the game on your back....and I don’t mean the world oldest profession....
I wonder, why??????
I don’t watch lacrosse. That would be like watching exercise.
C3PO hits below the belt, the little creep.
If that is the case, I hope Barkley gets a shot someplace. If he gets enough reps, he will do well.
White privilege in action from us.
Not by me, I thought he was not guilty as well as the Duke boys.
Without his speed he is just an average QB at best.
If RG III could have played behind an offensive line like that, he would truly flourish as a great quarterback.
Remember Joe Jacoby?
