Patrick Macnee, star of 1960s TV series ‘The Avengers,’ dies

Patrick Macnee, star of the 1960s TV series The Avengers, has died. He was 93.
His son Rupert said in a statement that Patrick Macnee died Thursday at his home in Rancho Mirage.
The British-born actor was best known as dapper secret agent John Steed in the long-running television series.

Always liked his characterization of the quintessential (old school) Brit.
He was a bit of a squish but seemed like a genuinely nice guy.

Just read that he served in the Royal Navy during World War II.
I also remember him playing the captain of a cruise ship in an episode of Columbo.
