White lives matter too.

So sick of cops shooting unarmed people to death. If you cannot figure out how to deal with drunks and rowdies without killing them, you shouldn’t be a cop.

When I was a youngster, I cannot recall the adults discussing the police shooting someone that was not armed and shooting at them. Then, the police only used their guns as a last resort. In fact, most retired without ever having to use their service weapon in earnest.

Thanks for the corrections. Sometimes my message is a few steps ahead of my sentence construct. There may be missing shingles on the new roof. I often chose the neutral term of “they” when referring to a non-present 3rd party. Genderologists (made up word) would probably prefer me to use
the term ‘It’.

Low blood sugar could have caused this behavior.

Picture this: I am approached by a screaming lunatic, who is covered in blood. He has been fighting his friends and EMS and threatens to kill me. After I punch and Taser him he still won’t stop and he is screaming “I’m going to kill you”. What would I as a private citizen with a legally carried handgun do?

I could say to the EMS people who asked for help to go to hell and just walk away. I could stay and try to help them control the man, and get myself killed. I could stay and try to help, and defend myself when I felt I was is danger of death or grievous bodily harm and shoot him.

The cop does not have option one, he has been committed to the scene and cannot just leave. So after trying to calm the kid down, with no success, he tries a Taser and a club. When these don’t work and said kid is advancing on the cop saying “I’m going to kill you” the cop only has options two and three, stand and get himself killed or defend himself.

There’s not a person on FR of reasonable intelligence who would fault a private citizen for using deadly force in this circumstance. Why should it be different for the cop, who is, after all, a citizen of the US? Is he not endowed with the right to life even if he is wearing a uniform?

The US is supposed to be a nation of laws. Respect for our laws is taking a hit, and with it respect for those who enforce those laws. This starts with those who are here illegally and openly. Then there are the criminal gangs whose drug profits are more important than the country’s well being. Now we add in the leftist hatred of the freedoms we have historically had. We can also count the anarchists and malcontents who just hate everything and want to see it burn. It is almost enough to make me cry when I hear a bunch of people who lay claim to being CONSERVATIVE just jump in with all these others based on a couple of words written by someone who may have had an agenda, was in a hurry, or just too lazy to care what effect his words would have.

We are losing this country, rapidly, and it seems lip service is the only help coming from most on the right. Use your brains, do your homework, and READ THE ARTICLE before you drive another nail. Wake the hell up, people.

Looks like the cop had no other choice.

I'd look very closely at his "friends" and what they'd given him to ingest.

Personally I'd be very much intimidated by someone who had just fallen from the second floor and was still willing and capable of locomotion.

As a private citizen? Get the hell out of the way. That is what a private citizen would do.

When I was EMS we had a couple of patients who had adverse reactions to being injured. Instead of being hurt and curling up in a ball, these guys would go nuts--serious adrenaline rush. One even understood it well enough to let us know it was 'coming on' and to put him in restraints.

So what do yo have?

You have a guy who is on God only knows what who has just gone through a window, landed on the ground/pavement from the second floor, and is injured. He's completely pumped from those events, and anything else in his system is likely pushing him, too, whether it is meth or pcp in his grass or what.

You back off, don't threaten him--right now he's feeling no pain--he is that pumped, and point out to him he's hurt. The idea is to slow him down.

Tazering him and giving him a wood shampoo is just going to piss him off, having the opposite effect desired, and adding more adrenaline to his system.

You want it to go the other way, less yelling, no threats, and get him to look at his injuries and let him know you're there to help him.

Yep, I have had patients I had to restrain for exactly those reasons, and it wasn't fun, but no one got killed. The patients later thanked us for doing so.

This could have had a different outcome.

Sadly, your wise comment will be ignored by those that need to listen to your message and instead, they join with the thugs in Baltimore. Stand by for the gratuitous ‘boot-licking’ insult to follow your post.

“They” is not a neutral term. It is the plural. He and him are the proper pronouns when the sex of the referent is indefinite.
