Floyd Mayweather Jr. was money once again in the richest fight ever. Mayweather used his reach and his jab Saturday night to frustrate Manny Pacquiao, piling up enough points to win a unanimous decision in their welterweight title bout. Mayweather remained unbeaten in 48 fights with a win that cemented his legacy as the best of his generation.

Mayweather remained unbeaten in 48 fights with a win that cemented his legacy as the best of his generation.
Pacquiao did what he wanted to do, chasing Mayweather around the ring most of the fight. But he was never able to land a sustained volume of punches, often looking frustrated as Mayweather worked his defensive wizardry once again.
Two ringside judges scored the fight 116-112, while the third had it 118-110. The Associated Press had Mayweather ahead 115-113.

I’m sure the authorities didn’t want riots in Vegas, so...
Pacquiao connected on you guessed it 19% of his punches.
In that same span, Mayweather landed an average of 50% of his punches. Against Pacquiao: 48%.
They played the Mexican national anthem before they started fighting even though Mayweather is from the U.S. and Pac is from the Phillipines
Saw that. What was the stated reason?
Thanks, but no thanks...
Too bad they both couldn't lose...
I have no idea but I wouldn’t doubt if some Obama goon was behind it
I woke up wondering if I missed one of the greatest fights of all time.
I really like it when I make a good decision.
For all those Benjamins, a rematch or two and they each could start their own bank.
Manny Pacquiao is my man but this fight looks suspiciously fake as in close score/rematch/ more millions for all involved down to the shoe shine boys in Vegas.
STAGED!!!!! staged bs! This fight was “Dancing with the Stars” No one gets damaged/ a close score to keep the betting chumps excited and involved for round number two in Vegas about 18 months from now
This would have been a great match-up five years ago but Pacquiao doesn't have enough left in the tank to seriously challenge Mayweather. If there is a rematch, it is because there don't appear to be another lucrative match out there and unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be anyone to knock Mayweather off his perch.
Pacquiao is the younger man by two years. So you say he doesn’t have much left in the tank...... To me Mayweather shows his age while Manny does not
There will be a rematch that Pacquiao will be designed to win. Then a third bout that will be up for grabs. The tremendous betting public in Asia demands this same as they are the major clonish buyers of Apple watches
Spot on analysis. Five years ago Manny probably would have overwhelmed Mayweather defense. Last night he looked frustrated, and slightly winded. He really didn’t bring any of his trademark techniques like off-angle attacks and aggressive flurries. I wouldn’t pay for a rematch.
What I saw was Manny on the offense almost all of the time. Mayweather would not fight toe to toe with the little guy. All he wanted to do was survive without any serious damage and take the win on points, which is what he did.
Not much real boxing to me.
Reminds me of the Hagler vs Leonard fight.
Two fighters past their prime fight each other in what turns out to be glorified sparring match.
When it was over it looked like neither boxer had really broken a sweat. No knockdowns. No cuts. They seemed to be exceedingly courteous to each other.
Still better than that Klitschko fight a short while ago, though. At least they weren’t hugging most of the time.
Developing..... but I am calling bs on this fight. That it is just one out of a projected three to decide the “winner” so they took it easy on each other this time around as in getting acquainted and a furtive kiss or two on the front porch swing
You saw my photo above of these two divers hugging after the alleged fight? They are going steady now.
#OccupyBoxingRings!
..maybe something left over from an undercard bout?
