The legend, Jack Nicklaus, at age 75, showed why he's the greatest of all time, draining a hole in one on the fourth hole of the Masters par-3 contest at Augusta National on Wednesday.

That’s Nicklaus, not Nicholson, LOL. I read it wrong at first... celebrity golf versus golf celebrity.
I rarely watch golf but I just loved reading this. A very classy gentleman. Yes, he still has it. :-) (growing up, dad ALWAYS had control over the TV, so I watched what he watched...sports and news.)

Good for Jack! He and Arnie are both old time favs of mine.
Sitting in a pizza place at lunch glancing at it and this old guy walks up to the tee and hey, it’s Nicklaus, and then he hits it and everybody in the place starts yelling. Owner sez, “Heck, Nicklaus just bought the bar.” So there I am with a beer in front of me and the boss walks in and sez, “What’s all the excitement?”

wow that is amazing! thank you for the post. a greater human being then golfer, the Golden Bear still has the class, integrity and indomitable spirit that’s old school, old America. he’s still the same man i cheered on as boy 50 years ago. my dad liked Arnold, but i was all in for Nicklaus. thank you Jack for yet another great moment.
Heck, yeah. He was going to meet some vendors in the main restaurant and sat down next to me instead. They eventually found us. ;-)

Yep. Time really flies doesn’t it.
I was playing my usual Sunday game when he won the last one. So I didn’t get to see it. Watched the replays several times though. We were teeing off on 10 when a guy comes out of the Pro Shop and hollers “Nicklas just took the lead!” Time we got back in he had won.
That tells you how long ago it was. He was a mere babe of 46. Hell, I’m 7 years older than when he won. Crap. I’m getting old.

Anyone who has read the books that both Arnie and Jack have written about their lives, beliefs, golf and the 100% importance of their ‘old fashioned’ families to them, knows they both would make outstanding FReepers! (Heck, maybe they are both here on the sly!). Jack and Arnie are the very best of Men.
Don’t mean to rain on everyone’s parade but rumor is they both cheated on their wives..alot!

What source or sources did you hear about those rumors from?
Hubby’s grandfather. Was in golf business for yrs, owned a golf course at one point.
Said it was well known rumor..but that was years ago.
