God help us if the power goes out. People will starve while waiting to be saved by the govt, helpless as lambs.

I assume we are about the same age...grew up before the internet and "devices" that ran our lives, we did boy scouts, camping, hunting and spent the vast majority of our youth either in school or outside...

I don't recall ever getting lost except when a scout master got us lost...

Ask almost any person under the age of 30 what direction they are standing at any moment and you get a deer in the headlight look...

It might take me few moments to orient myself...but my inner compass knows where I am at all times...in relationship to N,E,W,S

I am in my 70’s and still get lost...we were camping (5 kids) and the kids took off playing..I got worried about them getting lost...hubby said they will get back OK. I said no they wouldn't...so I took my husky and went to look for them, probably down by the falls...took note of landmarks as I went through the woods, until I heard voices and the falls...kids were not there..when I turned around to go back to the campsite, all the landmarks I noted were not seen...going back, the landmarks I took note of were not seen. Different going back then heading out...Got concerned about being lost in the woods, I figured my dog would know the way back even if I didn't..gave him his head and off we went..he got me back to the campgrounds, but we came out of the woods in a different way then we went in...
When we got to our campsite, hubby was sitting outside the camper and all 5 kids were in the camper playing games...Hubby was right, the kids found their way back and only my dog got me back.
