Android updates must go through carriers and cell phone manufacturers, who like to build their own apps and interfaces into the operating system.

Android has a totally different infrastructure (carrier based with multiple manufacturers) - so this "comparison" is totally meaningless...except for Fanbois slaves. Android remains far superior in market penetration
