should Home Owner’s Association be possessive? I don't think they should be, but they sure are. They can be real political fifedoms, too.

In Las Vegas, the HOAs have such a bad reputation that the local news channels have invented an “HOA Hall of Shame.” Just the fact that there are certain HOA officials who make the news in a not-so-worthy way has produced a new set of laws from Carson City.
There is enough corruption here — we don’t need intimidating little despots to make us want to move.
