I have been informed that my nephew Jack was bitten in the face by a neighbors dog while said neighbor stood by and let his loose dog do so.
Jack has his upper lip messed up and needs surgery to fix the damage.
Neighbors dog got loose, neighbor stood there watching it run loose, dog grabbed my nephew by the face.
I feel like heading to Lansford PA and smashing said neighbor into tiny quivering shreds.
In the meantime, anyone who wants to, please pray for my nephew.
Prayers up and go get some revenge.
Damnation!
Just on Friday, as The Bride and I were packing for a campout, Jailbait got bit in the leg by the neighbor’s mixed-breed.
Trip got cancelled, The Bride ran Jailbait to the ER (no damage or injuries, but on antibiotics) and Animal Control got called.
The neighbor was mortified that his otherwise behaved dog got out and did this. He offered to pay for Jailbait’s bill (which he did, and she accepted, very grown up on her part). All ended peacefully, but we were out a major planned trip...
Prayers
Prayers, of course.
Don’t harm your neighbor. Report his dog to the authorities. It will probably have to be destroyed.
Or you could threaten to do that next time if he doesn’t learn to control his dog. Up to you.
I feel like heading to Lansford PA and smashing said neighbor into tiny quivering shreds.
Not that I believe you are seriously considering that, as understandable as it is, I would strenuously advise against it. It's a path that leads to nowhere but destruction. Pray for the neighbor too, trust me it works!
In most places a dog would be put down for attacking a person
Wow that’s horrible. I hope your family can sue if he dog owner has homeowner insurance. Prayers up.
Call the police and get good advice?
Best wishes to Jack and a greedy personal injury lawyer for the neighbor!
From past experience, Darks, my only comment is this: Prayers for Jack’s healing, and for you, forgive. The best thing about the latter is that wonderful things happen when you forgive wrongdoers, but you need to do it in sincerity.
I can’t live with the darkness of harboring anger or ill will towards anyone, so I have learned to forgive everyone for everything, often before they have even wronged me. It works wonders.
As an aside for the news of Jack’s injuries, he will grow to be glad he is not a girl...he doesn’t have to re-learn how to apply lipstick. I say that from experience. After the car accident that nearly took my life, I had 52 stitches from my upper lip to the bridge of my nose and onto both eyelids.
The bridge of my nose is still numb, so that when I drink anything from a glass, I learned to tip my head back because I couldn’t feel when the glass had hit my nose. It was almost three years before I could bring my upper lip down to smooth out the lipstick, rather that than bring my bottom lip up.
Little things that folks take for granted, but I am grateful that I am still alive to make fun of what I had to go through in the healing processes. Small comfort for Jack’s parents, of course, but bless his little heart, he will learn to adapt. <3

I join in prayer for Jack’s complete recovery.
