Must be from those gas price reductions.
Because we KNOW if gas prices had gone up you’d have gotten a bigger check, right?
Right?
Actually, it’s not a check to ME. It goes directly to NVEnergy, and will act as a credit on my electric bill for the next 12 months. I can either use it all at once, or until it runs out, or pay everything over $18 on my power bill each month until it runs out. The heat is already here...the A/C came on for the first time, yesterday, so I’m thinking the credit will be gone by July.
After that, I have to pay the entire bill, and that can run as high as $175+ per month. Up to now, I have been able to make the credit last the full year, but I think this year is going to be really ugly and I will have to go to the church for help with the utilities.
PS: Because the place is cooled by electricity and I cook by electricity, I opted not to split the credit between the electric and the gas. The gas is on equal payments, which are $13 a month, year round. I don’t run the furnace in the winter, but use space heaters, so the gas bill doesn’t vary by much.
