Its been reported and its true that weve had some conversations on the The X-Files, Newman said about the Chris Carter-created sci-fi drama that capped off a nine-season run in 2002.
...
We are hopeful of being able to bring that back at some point, Newman added.

No and no and no!
FOX should leave classics the hell well enough alone.
You don’t tinker with something that stands on it own.
I hate reboots.

I liked the X-Files but those last 2-3 years were really out there.
To: BenLurkin
The first few seasons of xfiles were riveting.

X-Files was good until the end.
Prison Break fell apart about the middle of the second season.

LOL , that’s what always happens to a good Show , one of the Actors thinks They’re Great and heads off to the Movies and finds out they were only good on TV

Sure...why not? Might as well reboot Breaking Bad as well. And Star Trek; this time with lens flares!

X-Files fell apart after too many people, both actors and writers, left. They should have taken the hint and wrapped up the storyline. Prison Break's storyline was season 1: escape from prison, season 2: stay out of prison while being hunted, season 3: WTF?
I want them to bring back Firefly.

What’s sad is Hollywood is trying to milk a franchise.
Star Trek comes to mind but ST:TNG was the rare exception that was able to capture “lightning in a bottle” twice.
Most reboots fail.

X-Files turned to a smoking pile of crap during the 6th season, and got worse from there.
Prison Break was and remains a weak concept at best.
Why not reboot “Party of Five”? ;’)

The X-Files? No!!! Because they went through so much conspiracy theory and sci-do material in the original X-Files that there is hardly anything new to do with it. Maybe if they could make a movie set in 2012 about the alien wars with the original cast that would be cool, but I wouldn’t see a need to watch a reboot. Plus, I fear that they wouldn’t capture the scare factor as well.

Yeah, now that was an interesting series. Though Serenity, the movie was kind of the conclusion.
To: wally_bert
Only if they can get a 30-year old Bruce Campbell to play Brisco.

It worked for its time but doing it with a fresh cast is a challenge.
I mean its not going to be the original and to make it like the original is a setup for a guaranteed flop.
