After years of being a sucker and buying magazines off of the tables at gun shows, I'm done. I'm looking at my mags and I have about a dozen gun show mags and only maybe two or three are reliable and quiet. Most jam or don't activate the slide stop when empty or just plain rattle when loaded. I've spent an average of $15 each. For the same $ I could have bought 6 factory mags and have 6 good mags instead of 2 or 3.
As an experiment I loaded a factory 7rd Ruger .45 mag with 7 rds and left it in my safe for 4 years. Some time ago I took it out and it still functioned perfectly without one mishap in 50rds. Ruger makes really good mags. So do the other factories in my experience.
Screw this gun show crap. The stuff there is overpriced anyhow. I get better deals at Doug's Shootin' Sports or cheaperthandirt or midway.com than from these corporate entities at the gun show. There's hardly anything but corporations at shows any more. All the little guys have been pushed out.
I'm not going to get started on the cheap worthless fancy looking knives they sell there.
Screw 'em. I'm embarrassed that I've been so stupid so many years.
If you’re buying from FFL dealers, I’d say stop! Rotten stinking filthy money grubbing ba$tards willing to pi$$ all over the 2nd Amendment in the name of making a few bucks...I refuse to buy from an FFL dealer. ANYTHING.
For about the past ten years, I’ve purchased most of my pistol magazines from Brownells and Midway USA. They both have good prices, a good selection, and excellent customer service.
I plan on getting a couple of extra clips for my glock.

If you are buying 1911 magazines, they are notorious for being very finicky. Stick with good name brand, brand new magazines like Chip McCormick or Wilson Combat.
If you’re buying magazines for Glocks, they should work just fine. I’ve bought a few beat up old Glock 9mm magazines and they always work in my G26.
I lucked out last year at a garage sale by a guy that works in security. Bought 40 30round 5.56 mags still in plastic, all stamped “For law enforcement and government use only”.
Work flawlessly and a steal at $2 each.
I'm always buying new high-capacity clips for my fully-automatic 12-gauge pump action AK-47 assault Glock.

When it comes to tools, there is a saying:
Only cry once.
When I don’t follow it, I usually remember it later.
I have some Wilson combat mags for my 1911 Commander.
They are like butter. Smooth and creamy. Who doesn’t like butter?
I thought this was going to be about Gun Magazines having like too many ads and not enough meaty articles or something.
Low and behold OP is talking about CLIPS!
OMG!
:) /s
I got the only one set up as an over under with a belt fed .30 cal. That thing is sweet.
Mine came in Orange and green, like the Dolphins colors.
I was gonna get the Gatling upgrade but it was just too much.
Santa brought me enough Wilson Combat 1911 mags to replace most of my entire set, some of which were apparently stamped out of tuna cans. Big, big difference. Eight is better than seven anyway - this way I have to miss the bugger eight times before I beat him to death with the barrel.
Thought dolphins were grey?
Actually, I have bought practically nothing from a gun show in the last 10 years... I guess I'm paying to go in and look at decrepit milsurp boltguns, piles of cracked antique cop gunleather, mystery sausage/jerky and reloads that I'd trust as much as a Democrat senator.

“reloads that I’d trust as much as a Democrat senator.”
I have some which were part of an accidental acquisition(included, no cost). A friend ran out and asked if I had any .223, which I did. He loaded it into a Savage bolt action and fired.
It was a sight to behold, as a blue cloud appeared around the action. The bolt had to be hammered open, the bolt had departed for parts still unknown, and the case had “Gone Full Muslim”(head off the case).
Gunshow ammo - give it to a Liberal!
Te Miami Dolphins. Orange and some horrible shade of green/blue. They are usually colored with dirt and blood when they leave Foxboro
