True. All the images that come up are very sympathetic photos of him wearing a graduation gown. Only a few of the famous thug robbery appear at the bottom of the page.

I’m not positive, but I believe Brown’s juvie criminal records have been sealed. I recall a media organization suing for their release, but feel quite confident that they may never see the light of day.

AFAIK, most Google search results are purely the consequence of algorithms processing a whole lot more information than we realize. WE, as the conservative/right, may perceive certain views of the otherwise random search string “Michael Brown”, but there’s a whole lot more information flowing out there regarding the subject all of which adds up to warm fuzzy results when you do the search.

I doubt the search is scrubbed. You’re just getting the result of far more discussion regarding him as a fallen cherub, than as a thug with a record.

re: Does Google Search Censor Information They Get?

No.
Unless they have somehow become an arm of the government, they cannot censor. They can edit. They can delete. Since it is their privately owned site, they can determine what they will release to you. But they do not censor because they cannot censor.

I think many of the search engines do. I tried *searching* Lindsay Graham in a tutu and only came up with his official portrait images....of he AND Juan. Hmmm.

Here’s a nice compilation by Snopes.

I know it’s fairly liberal site, but that doesn’t mean the info they publish is all inaccurate.

http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/brown.asp

They quote the official that there were no major felony charges against him or criminal complaints of any type when he died.

According to NBC snooze Saint Charging Bull was never CONVICTED of a juvenile crime.

http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/michael-brown-shooting/no-top-felony-convictions-michael-browns-juvenile-record-court-n194701

Which begs the question was he ever arrested in connection with a felony crime.

OF COURSE THEY DO! This isn’t rocket science. Google’s goal is to corner the market on all data, and then disseminate it as they see fit or at least sell/auction content placement to content providers. Control the information, you control the minds. Google has been paying college students to scan books, papers, and other informational sources, for years!

For both variations of a search I tried, the top result is Snopes,

Harcourt did provide the largest amount of information regarding Brown’s legal history, noting that the nature of the crimes with which Brown had reportedly been involved would not necessarily have been protected by laws that shield minors from publicizing their criminal records:

Cynthia Harcourt, a lawyer for the juvenile officer of St. Louis County Family Court, said after the hearing that she could neither confirm nor deny the existence of a juvenile record for Mr. Brown. Missouri state law prohibits the records of most juvenile court proceedings from being released to the public. But she said Mr. Brown had no juvenile cases involving serious felony charges or convictions, including murder, robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. Those felony records would not be required to be confidential and would have been released, but none exist for Mr. Brown, Ms. Harcourt said.

Translation: never tried as an adult, no juvenile “serious” charges, but he could have ten petty theft charges, truancy and fights and they don’t have to tell us

The next top results I get for: criminal record of Michael Brown are:

Juvenile court: Michael Brown had no most-serious felony convictions or pending cases

“MIchael Brown Criminal Record” brings up those results plus others like:

No Top Felony Convictions on Michael Brown’s Juvenile Record: Court

But prior criminal records or not, Brown WAS in the commission of a crime when he assaulted the officer who shot him.

Front Page Magazine
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/matthew-vadum/michael-brown-a-criminal-and-a-thug/

An official incident report about the robbery was released Friday by Ferguson police, over the vehement but ultimately groundless objections of left-wing politicians, including the Missouri governor and U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder. History shows that leftist office holders aren’t too concerned about getting to the bottom of a matter when their supporters are in the streets calling for blood. If the documentation in question helped make the case that the local police were cold-blooded, murdering racists, those same politicians would be loudly demanding its release.

The report in question identifies Brown and his 22-year-old friend Darren Johnson as suspects in the Aug. 9 robbery that took place minutes before Brown’s death.

According to the report, police responded to a call about “stealing in progress” at a convenience store. The stolen item was a $48.99 box of Swisher Sweets cigars. Marijuana users are known to hollow out such cigars and use them to smoke drugs.

A man identified as Brown was captured in store surveillance stills having a physical confrontation with a much smaller store employee who tried to lock the doors of the establishment to prevent the men from departing with the stolen item.

The 6’ 4”, 292-pound Brown took the employee by his shirt and pushed him back into some merchandise. As Brown moved toward the door, he then turned around and moved toward the worker “appearing to intimidate him.” After that Brown disappears from the camera footage.

Ferguson Police Chief Tom Jackson made the video of the robbery available Friday, explaining that state law forced him to act. Reporters had demanded the footage under the Freedom of Information Act, Jackson said.

I’m not sure censor is the correct term. Perhaps “groom” is?

Google search uses a lot of information such as your location, your search history, links others have clicked on that enter the same search as yours, etc. The results you get are all ordered and presented on these many factors.

Google is also first and foremost a marketing engine and this has a profound impact on what you see on Google.
