Well we still don't merit a national holiday that includes the day off but there are plenty of places setting aside this hallowed day to honor America's service men and women.
Who doesn't love a free meal with a healthy side of patriotic gratitude? The URL lists some national chains that are setting the table in our honor.
Share your favorite free-food-on-Vets Day-restaurant story and/or share the location of your local/regional/national participating restaurant. Add to this list so we all have the full range of eateries and other business anxious to dish up world-class chow and special deals to some deserving folks. Forks up!!

Most of these places I don’t eat at, or they aren’t where I live, but there are a couple of winners for sure!
Thanks!

I’ve been going to Applebees the past few years with grown daughter. They have a great menu just for vets and it’s cool to see other vets there with various service caps.

I’m waiting for some “gimmedat” parasite to demand another freebe.

Seriously though, many vets have retired military ID cards or as in my case a VA healthcare card.

I never go to Starbucks, but I may get a free coffee just to stick it to ‘em.

I’m a vet but if I start taking free meals, I’m afraid someone might mistake me for a democrat.

The difference in this case is these aren’t guilt offerings. I went to a local bar last year and they were genuinely honored to serve me up a decadently and wonderfully greasy, delicious cheese burger and fresh, hot fries, oh yeah!!!! Go for it!

No, I mean some one that sees vets getting a free meal and think they are being left out of a freebe even though they did nothing more than roll out of bed at the crack of noon.

Jackie Chiles got me free coffee for life. There was something else too but I answered too fast.
