If they remake “Drop Dead Fred,” they should offer Phoebe Cates the role of the mother
The 1991 movie “Drop Dead Fred” is one of my favorite movies of all time. In the movie, Phoebe Cates played the daughter.
It has been announced that they will be doing a remake of the movie. I hope they offer Phoebe Cates the role of the mother. That would make it one of the more interesting remakes in recent times.

sounds like you still got a thing for Fibi Cates

Why would they remake this movie?
For that matter why did they remake Total Recall? Or Hairspray? Or any other film that currently existed with
color and sound?
Though Phoebe Cates is still easy on the eyes and I’d be happy to look at her in just about anything.

Oh, Phoebe.

She has had no acting credits in 13 years, and only one in 20 years. Sounds like she gave up the business, or vice versa.

Worthless, won’t be worth the effort without Rik Mayall.

Total Recall. Boy, did they screw the pooch on that one.

I wish that annoying YouTube ‘Fred’ would drop dead.

Yeah, she married Kevin Kline and pretty much became a stay-at-home mom.
Brunettes with brown eyes were always my weakness.

...
I don’t know. It was one of the worst movies ever made.

Heh. I dared not post the animated gif file of that. :^)

You know it!
I was 13 when that movie was in theatres...that scene made quite the impression. LOL.
To: Constitution Day
It’s OK. That scene is indelibly burned into my adolescent brain cells.

I think that when an actor dies, in this case Rik Mayall, they feel compelled to do a remake of one of their movies.
He actually played a small character in the first Harry Potter movie, but his comic reputation in the UK was so great that all the young actors would break character and start laughing, despite several takes. Eventually he was able to make the scene on the other side of the building, but it was cut from the movie.
