CDC have not contacted second family in Ebola 'quarantine' for 24 hours
Daily Mail ^ | 10/3/14 | Laura Collins

Posted on 10/03/2014 4:01:33 PM PDT by jeannineinsd

Relatives of Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan who were put under observation by CDC after they visited him on the day he was taken to hospital are still waiting for an answer about what they should do 24 hours after they begged them for help.

Aaron Yah, 43, and wife Youngor Jallah, 35, yesterday told of their ordeal in isolation and revealed that they had not received direct orders to stay indoors.

Today MailOnline returned to the family's small apartment to find a family without answers, without power following violent electrical storms that brought down lines and running low on food, water and diapers for their youngest child.

Most troubling of all some family members are beginning to show cold-like symptoms.

Ms Jallah repeatedly wiped her eyes - which appeared sticky - with a paper towel while a child sneezed and coughed in the background. While it is unlikely to be related to the Ebola virus, they did not look as healthy as they did when MailOnline visited on Thursday.

Ms Jallah said: 'We asked the CDC last night if we have to stay indoors and they said they would come back to us overnight and tell us this morning.'

The CDC had been in contact with them over the last few says, checking their temperatures and blood pressures. But it was close to midday when Youngor spoke and the family was still waiting for officials to visit and answer their questions from Thursday.

The couple live in the home with their four children: three boys aged two, four and 11 and a daughter, aged six. She continued: 'Our phone is not working because of the storm. So we don't know.'

It’s like the keystone cops, but not funny. I think that the County health department is supposed to be the one implementing protocols, and the CDC is supposed act in an advisory role, but I don’t know for sure.

If she had contact with Duncan on the 24th when he supposedly first showed symptoms, then this is the 9th day, so they very well could already be experiencing symptoms.

If I was her, me or my family was not feeling well, I’d probably call the ambulance and quit waiting on the “authorities”. The earlier the treatment, the better the chances of survival, it appears.

Didn’t see the CDC and the Feds rushing to the airport and flying to Texas to help out on the cluster f—k that they caused. Notice the patient and possible infectees are not in the CDC approved hospital in Atlanta.

I can’t believe what I am reading. The CDC are absolute idiots.

Hard to believe that we are stuck with a government this incompetent isn't it?

I don’t know but I can’t believe the PC I am hearing on the Dallas Press Conference.

‘The family needs privacy’ ‘They need to get back to normal’ ‘We need to RESPECT them’....... It’s all about PC
the Judge that went to see them is according to him, wearing the same clothes. people are being too afraid. go out and watch football, go to the fair.....
‘there were too many permits and the paperwork required to clean the mess’

I don’t think eye discharge is a symptom, but who knows. I think the first symptoms are fever, sore throat, headache, loss of appetite.

None of them should be out in public.

The CBS rent-a-doc, Dr. LaPoop, was upset this morning because on the blog he visited no one believed him and made fun of his name (I hope it was Free Republic so he can read this).

LaPoop spewed out the CDC story line, word for word, as the CDC had the day before. Gems like “You could shake hands with an Ebola patient and if you didn’t have a cut on your hand, you couldn’t get Ebola”. “You can only get it if you get the virus in a mucus area (like your eyes, nose, mouth)”. “The virus is not transmitted through airborne means and you cannot get it that way”.

Just after his tirade, they did a feature about the cameraman, for rent-a-doc Dr. Nancy Schneiderman, who contracted Ebola. The cameraman is being sent back to Nebraska for treatment and the rest of the team quarantined. Now we have to assume that the cameraman did not stand idly by and just take pictures and contract the disease through airborne contamination but either handled Ebola patient feces with a cut on his hands or gathered some patient mucus and looked at it very closely, sniffed it and tasted it to contract Ebola while Dr. Schneiderman watched.

LaPoop stated that people were panicing because they did not believe him, other experts or the CDC. I don’t think panic is in order, but with their track record, I won’t put much faith in their news briefs either. Besides, John Kerry-Heinz stated that Climate Change causes Ebola; so if we stop burning coal, sit in the cold dark homes, Ebola will go away,.

Camera guy (from interview with his Mother) believes that he contracted it while in a suit and helping to decontaminate a car.

I’ve been leaning more and more Libertarian over the years and the main reason is that governmental bureaucracies are the terribly inefficient institutions. It’s actually shocking when something goes *right*.

But this... I’m pretty cynical, but even my jaw is on the floor over this clown show.

cdc’s been told to let this turn into an epidemic. they’re actng like idiots here. this is amateur hour and these people aren’t amateurs. yes they don’t follow protocols 100%, and that’s enough to cause problems, but this is standing down altogether. this ain’t passing the smell test.

You would think that they would have medical personnel and police officers just outside their door to attend to them.

This is after all the virus of the millennium...

Unfortunately, it is not, ‘infrastructure’, that will die from this disease.

By not closing the border to West Africa, this administration is culpable for each and every death that will result from their malfeasance...

The game of Ebola Roulette continues...

*click* spin *click* spin *click* spin…BANG!

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

We’re gonna need

a bigger cart!

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

The daughter is the one who called for an ambulance for Duncan. She gave the guy tea and wrapped him in a blanket. She had touched him after he was showing signs. Why she isn’t under a more strict quarantine is beyond me. CDC allegedly allowed her and her husband to go out grocery shopping before they were stuck in their apartment.

No one seems to be in charge of who’s doing what.

The stupid seems to be infecting a lot more people than the Ebola will.

This story is perhaps the most damning of all. These people are symptomatic!!! The people sent to occasionally check on them must be scared spitless and will flee after a cursory inspection.

We have all those agency heads saying everything is beautiful, we have it all under control while the British Press documents that those idiots don’t have a clue. This is incompetence on a grand scale.

Dr. LaPoop? lolol

I’d like to see dr. poopy shake hands with an ebola patient. A lot of people have openings on their hands where germs can penetrate. It doesn’t have to be a big cut. Dry hands with a tiny crack, a slight abrasion, near a cuticle. Besides, whether you have an opening on your hand or not, you could easily introduce it into your body by rubbing your eyes, wipe your nose.

Seems there are lots of people more invested in downplaying the seriousness of this virus than they are in preventing it. A CDC spokesperson called ebola a “very wimpy virus”.
