This confirms what I’ve speculated about George Lucas. He’s a mediocre screenwriter, and an okay director. But he’s a damn good editor and a hell of a cinematographer. Even if the story is weak in Lucas’ movies the visuals and pacing are usually stunning. JMO

Lucas had nothing to do with the visuals of Raiders. It was directed by Spielberg and photographed by Douglas Slocombe (who is still alive at 101).
