In a similar vein, I always thought this:
Arrogance comes from stupidity.
Proof in point
IMO, it all boils down to motivation. There’s nothing more dangerous than a stupid person who’s motivated.
Yet the people who are always given the limelight are the ones who are willing to talk loudly and act confident. Humility gets overlooked almost every time.
It’s hard to know how to prepare kids for a world like that. To succeed they have to have “confidence” (toot their own horn), and yet the more intelligent (and Christian) way is humility.
I don’t know.
I do hate it when I’m too stupid to know that I’m stupid though. Except when it’s God letting me know that His ways are so far above my own understanding; that’s always a slightly bitter but mostly sweet learning.
