We left the beach early Tuesday morning, but my no see um bites are still very present and still very itchy. I accidentally sliced a couple of them off of my legs while shaving. I'm requesting from the best folks I know: How do I stop the itch?

My first choice would have been the hydrocortizone, but I’d try the following, starting first with what you have on hand. You may just want to go for it and pick up the Caladryl.
Vinegar
Kiwi (or papaya) slice
Witch Hazel
Epsom salts
Calamine lotion
Caladryl lotion
I’ll check that out tomorrow - hubby is on a 24 hour shift and three little ones are in bed. Thanks for the info!
Calamine and caladryl did not work. I do have real apple cider vinegar with the mother in my pantry. I’m going to try that before the boiling water remedy I just read about.
get in a tub with as hot a water as you can stand.
This will stop the itch for 30 minutes to 45 minutes.
If you want longer, apply calamine lotion over the affected area (there is a clear variety if you wish it’s less messy).
Also, Tri-Calm creme in the itch isle of the drug store (should be next to calamine).
Yes ma’am. I will lighten up. But FR (sorry to say) is nothing like it used to be. Hope you find some relief.
Witch hazel actually works.
Just as well, if not better, is aloe. Not from the stuff they sell in the store but from an aloe plant.
If you are a pepper, you need an aloe plant. They’re easy to grow and you just slice off a leaf (arm?) and squeeze out the healing goo.
I had a bea sting recently. Put aloe on immediately. Stopped the pain immediately. It works for burns, insect bites, canker sores and poison ivy.
Not sure about chiggers. But anything that stings burns or turns red.
Do you have a staph infection? Put on witch hazel and see a dermatologist ASAP.
I second ammonia
Sancudo = “No see um” in Navajo
See if the drug store has something called “Absorbine Jr.”
Rubbing alcohol will kill the itch.
You have mail.
Make a small amount of paste composed of baking soda and a few drops of hydrogen peroxide. Totally benign, unlike many other “home remedies”; cheap, too. Apply as needed. Should take 3-4 apps first day, 1-2 the next 2 days, then . . . itch gone.
Benadryl anti-itch cream. Sounds like you’re having an allergic reaction. Antihistamines too.
“I hope youre kidding. If not... praying for you that you find other subjects worth your attention rather than a couple of bug bites. Goodness! People are losing their heads and our country is going to hell.”
You win the Unfeeling Post Award - probably because you have never felt a good case of No-See’m bites.
For certain, you have never acquired a large number of Chigro bites.
Both of the above bites can drive some people into a level of discomfort that has to be observed. No, you do Not want to experience it.
No dear, I hope YOU are kidding! If I spent every minute of every day focused on the worlds problems (that I can do very little if anything about) I would lose my mind. Lighten up a little.
No see ums - very uncool. Thanks for the thread, though. Have a couple of mosquito bites driving me nuts today. They're located right where the straps to my sandals could irritate them all day. I'm going to try the remedy down-thread involving baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. The Gold Bond anti-itch cream and hydrocortizone cream have both failed me today.
All other advice is good.
But if all else fails, old-hat advice works every time:
1. Pour a shot
2. Drink a shot
3. Repeat until no itch (or no care).
