Robin Williams was suffering from the early stages of Parkinsons disease, his widow revealed Thursday, days after the beloved actor and comedian was found dead of an apparent suicide.
Susan Schneider said Williams sobriety was intact at the time of his death, and that he was struggling with depression, anxiety as well as early stages of Parkinsons disease, which he was not yet ready to share publicly.

Health care rationers would claim it wouldn’t be a quality life.
No, but it very well could have been the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Tell that to Michael J Fox and Janet Reno
I disagree!! When my father was in the early stages of Parkinsons with dementia he went through a CRIPPLING depression. Luckily I got him diagnised early and got anti depressants and on dopamine ( which lack of dopamine is the problem with Parkinsons and alsi a HUGE factor in depression.)
This is sad.
My BIL in the UK has it. Horrible disease.
Still doesn’t mean his family, especially his kids, will carry what he did to them everyday till the day they die.
No fan of Reno, just a first name that pops up when Parkinson’s gets mentioned.
Might have added to his depression if it made it difficult to function as an actor.
My 87 year old Dad has been dealing with it for ten years plus. He’s made of sturdier stuff than most of us.
Agreed. Michael J. Fox has dealt with Parkinson's Disease for a long time. He's not a favorite of mine, and I didn't watch his latest show, which ran at the same time as The Crazy Ones, and was also cancelled.
Of course but that form of hopelessness can convince you that they are better off withoutyou. It’s crazy how the mind can work.
Oh, yeah. Been there.
But it still doesn’t excuse what he did!

Thank you. I did not know most of those.
I find it odd that the wife would disclose this, something Robin Williams didn’t do while alive. What could possibly be her reason for doing this? This is the wife who despite having a husband suffering depression, having money problems, trying to stay clean from drugs & alcohol and now we hear Parkinson’s, didn’t find it necessary to check on him before she went out the morning he died. I feel for his children. They must be cringing.
I posted the same thing on another thread. She should have been more attentive!
So I’m not the only one who thinks something was out of whack behind the scenes. On another note, I’m glad there are 3 children. They’ll be able to support each other.
