Yes it is new, female and male news/information used to be separate, men could live in a world of news and foreign affairs and largely outside of the world of pop culture, it is why newspapers had a women’s section, and news magazines had few photos and little about entertainment.
I don’t know what any of this has to do with someone’s sex. As I’ve said when people like Mark Twain and Will Rogers died it was huge news.
