Actor Jon Voight is a conservative. That, in and of itself, is a rarity in Hollywood. But Voight is also an outspoken supporter of Israel.
As a result, after fellow-actors Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz denounced Israeli “genocide” in an open letter last week, Voight couldn’t help but respond.
Here are excerpts, via The Hollywood Reporter: I am heartsick that people like Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem could incite anti-Semitism all over the world and are oblivious to the damage they have caused.
They are obviously ignorant of the whole story of Israel’s birth, when in 1948 the Jewish people were offered by the UN a portion of the land originally set aside for them in 1921 – and the Arab Palestinians were offered the other half.
The Arabs rejected the offer, and the Jews accepted – only to be attacked by five surrounding Arab countries committed to driving them into the sea. The Arabs tried again in 1967 and again in 1973.

Cruz and Bardem are inhabitants of Bizarro World, where people defending themselves against genocide are endlessly accused of genocide.
Somehow they failed to notice that in no muslim country can a Jew live openly as a Jew. And the forces arrayed against Israel have tried repeatedly to drive them into the sea. Again and again and again.
If Israel uprooted itself and moved lock stock and barrel to Bolivia, Hamas would move to Bolivia. Because they are on this earth to kill Jews where ever they are, where ever they have to go to find them.

That is the trade mark of Liberals; cheapen and adulterate words as to make them meaningless.
They want to shock you in to believing them with their use of shocking words.
The use of the word GENOCIDE is supposed to shock and fill you with hatred of the Israelis because they are killing Palestinians by the millions (there are millions of Palestinians).
But the reality is that there have been less than two hundred Palestinians killed in the present conflict.
The word Genocide used to mean that a huge number of a people had been killed in an effort of wipe them from the face of the Earth.
In World War Two the Nazis attempted to totally remove the Jewish people from the Face of Europe by either driving them out or killing them.
In the process they killed two thirds of the Jews in Europe and one third of all of the Jews in the world.
To use the word Genocide in the context of the Israel trying to kill off the Palestinians in the West Bank conflict is pure sophistry and adulterates the meaning of the word.
They should be ashamed. But I won’t hold my breath waiting for a published apology.
These actors should be doubly ashamed because it is the stated goal of Hamas to drive out or kill all of the Israelis in the Middle East.
