Saucy young Beijing girls in low-cut tops and booty shorts walk their crabs down the street in Sanlitun, drawing many gawkers. We assume they didn't have time to walk their jumbo shrimp, or crayfish.
Pedestrians snap pictures of the ladies and their curious "crabwalk".
Some things about Asia, I just don't understand...
“I have no idea what you’re talking about... so herea Beijing girls with crabs on leashes.”
It doesn’t need to be understood, just admired.
I’ll say I don’t understand. Those cutoff jeans are way too big for their bodies.
Quoth Gerry, “Why should a lobster be any more ridiculous than a dog? Or a cat, or a gazelle, or a lion, or any other animal that one chooses to take for a walk? I have a liking for lobsters. They are peaceful, serious creatures. They know the secrets of the sea, they don’t bark, and they don’t gobble up your monadic privacy like dogs do. And Goethe had an aversion to dogs, and he wasn’t mad!”
I don’t find women with crabs very attractive.

The real ‘beauty’ of it is when you finish your walk, you can place the lobster or crab in a steaming pot, then eat it for dinner.
Do that with a dog or cat and people will look at you funny.
Maybe not so much in China but..........
Dog eating is becoming unpopular in China.
Stars voice their opposition to dog eating festival in China
June 21st is going to be summer solstice in 2014, and it's also going to be the saddest day for dog lovers. On that day, the traditionally celebrated Lychee and Dog Meat Festival will be held in Yulin in Guanxi province of China. Now some famous Chinese stars have come out to openly oppose the festival and the practice of eating dogs.
I have a liking for lobsters too. Especially with drawn butter.
Decades ago, in Miami, Joe's Stone Crab used to sell T-shirts that said, “I Got The Crabs At Joe's.”
I just remembered. Crabs are scavengers. Maybe this is a new Beijing necrosearch- CAL team.
They look like the girls from our local Asian Massage Parlor. I’ll have to stop by and inquire about their crabs................

You can get them by the “case.” But be selective or you will get a “Bad Case” of the crabs.
I think you’re right about the seafood restaurant thing. All of them are also wearing pirate hats.

In a country where the ratio of men to women is so out of whack (many more men than women — largely due to the “one-child” policy and sex-favored abortions), this must be pure torture to the Chinese guy who can’t find a women.
Daisy Dukes, they’re not. But not bad at all.
