Former Arizona Rep. Gabby Giffords and her husband, Mark Kelly, firmly lamented gun violence as a womens issue as their political action committee, Americans for Responsible Solutions, gears up to support candidates in the 2014 midterm elections.
Giffords and Kelly visited the Hearst headquarters in New York on Monday morning to speak with Ellen Levine, editorial director of Hearst magazines. During their presentation they revealed a number of startling facts: American women are eleven times more likely to be killed by guns than in any other high-income country, and every month, nearly 50 women are shot to death by a current or former partner. The campaign by Americans For Responsible Solutions intends to reduce gun violence and support candidates that advocate for stricter gun control.

Can she cogently communicate? Can she clearly think? Is her freak husband exploiting her?
Well, both she and her husband are women, so maybe so......
Kelly is disgusting!
“This is my rifle, this is my gun,
This one’s for fighting, this one’s for fun!”
Maybe this is why Gabby thinks gun control is a Woman’ issue!
I find it amazingly reprehensible that she somehow believes it is preferable for a woman to be stabbed, beheaded, or beaten to death, rather than shot.
Her statistic may be true; but it is also bogus and not germane at all.
Bogus as in comparing apples to armadillos.
I wish she would go away.
I’m very sorry she got shot, and has permanent injury. Very sorry about what happened to her.
But, the left is using her. They set up a situation in which we’re not supposed to say anything when Gabby speaks, because after all, she was shot, so she allegedly has this great credibility and wisdom on gun control issues.
The left does this on other issues too. They set terms of debate/discussion in which one is hateful, racist, bigoted, etc.
For example, if you oppose homosexual marriage, you are an anti-homosexual bigot.
If you oppose affirmative action, you are a racist.
If you oppose illegal immigration, you are xenophobic and hate Latinos and other minorities.
If you oppose global warming, you are actually in favor of despoiling the environment. You hate the polar bears, and want them to die off. Yadda, yadda, yadda.
On the issues of guns, I feel that they are using Gabby Giffords, because of the fact that she got shot. And they put us in a position to be lacking sympathy for her if we say anything against what she wants us to do.
I think you can be both sympathetic for her condition, and still oppose what she stands for.
My woman knows all about gun violence as she can put 30 rounds in a three inch ring in 3 seconds. There is nothing finer than a fine woman with a fine weapon.
If you don’t want a gun, don’t buy one. That’s the argument for keeping abortion legal, idn’t it?
■Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.
■Around the world, at least one in every three women has been beaten, coerced into sex or otherwise abused during her lifetime. Most often, the abuser is a member of her own family.
■Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to womenmore than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined.
■Studies suggest that up to 10 million children witness some form of domestic violence annually.
■Everyday in the US, more than three women are murdered by their husbands or boyfriends.
■Ninety-two percent of women surveyed listed reducing domestic violence and sexual assault as their top concern.
The list goes on and on.
God made women unequal but the second amendment makes them equal.
Gaby Giffords would have women stripped of one of their only means of defending themselves and she should be ashamed of herself.
Does he have his hand way up Gabby’s ass working her mouth when she “speaks”.
